Publicizing Your Book

Websites

An eye-catching, user-friendly website is an essential tool for authors wishing to promote themsevles, publicize their written work, and successfully market their books online. Readers, reviewers and organizations searching the internet for books by genre or topic will be driven to the websites of authors whose written works match their search criteria.

Mediacs manages all the various administrative and creative tasks involved in creating an author's website: domain registration and hosting, writing and/or editing website text in close collaboration with the author, and designing a unique website that truly represents the author and his or her written work.

We also create websites for professionals, independent contractors, nonprofits and companies of all sizes who wish to promote their services, products, and missions on the worldwide web.

Our website designer, Chloe Annetts, is a fine artist trained at Parsons The New School for Design in New York City. Chloe's websites blend her understanding of color and layout with her skills as a digital graphic artist. You can view Chloe's designs at her company website by clicking on the following link: www.chloeartdesign.com.

Chloe has created websites for many clients including authors Sigrid Nunez, Jesse Browner, and Tina Cassidy.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Our technical expert, Gary Cheung, ensures that the websites we create meet the technical criteria used by the top search engines–Google, Yahoo and Bing–in determining how soon an author's website, company or association appears when people search online for books, products or services. Gary is a whiz in the field of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), a catch-all term describing the process of fine-tuning a website so that it shows up near the top of the browser result page list.

Social Media

A presence on FaceBook, Twitter and other social media sites are an increasingly effective component for effectively mining the internet marketplace. Mediacs creates and maintains social media pages for authors and our other clients. For this service, we charge a reasonable one-time set-up fee and a monthly charge for maintenance.

Publicity

Mediacs also runs traditional media campaigns for authors wanting to publicize themselves and their books in newspapers, magazines and on television. Our professional writers prepare press packages for distribution to TV and radio talk shows, mainstream press and magazine book reviewers, and brick-and-mortar bookstores. Carol Klenfner, our media publicist, is very good at what she does and her fees are reasonable.
